Hello friends,
Received this message from family of Becky Chakov. A Memorial Celebration will be held October 10, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Neilson Place for Elaine R. "Becky" Chakov. Bemidji, MN. Becky passed away July 26th at Neilson Place, where she had been recovering from a fracture.
We hope you can join us. If you are not able to attend, but perhaps have a story, poem or any sentiment to share, we will be happy to read it for you. You can send to kbedwards@comcast.net before October 10.

Becky and her husband Jake (Little Jake) attended many reunions with all of us, and we looked forward to seeing them at the reunions. They met as the story goes on a ferry, and it was love from there on, and marriage.

All is well in Iowa, we are enjoying the cooler weather and the fall. Not looking forward to all the leaves, but love our trees so something we just have to put up with. Les is doing fair, some days are good others not so good. Humidity is his downfall, takes the zing right out of him.

All take care, and see you in July in Texas.

Les and Janet

Received the Newsletter and enjoyed reading it.
Sorry we didn't make it back to Cajun Country but had a conflict with grandkids at the beach for two weeks.

Just a note to congratulate Marilynn on a "Job Well Done" with the newsletter, Very Good!!

Hoping to make Dallas in 2017

I have been informed by Julie Marie Romanos of the passing of Jose Romanos EN3 who served on board the BG from 1962-1966. I remember serving with Jose who was a fun guy to talk to and although we were in different departments on the ship we struck up a friendship on board the BG. Rest in Peace Jose.

To those who signed the card from the reunion. A BIG THANKS for remembering us.I apologize for not writing this sooner but things are stressful on a daily basis. Alice is not doing well and as a caregiver I find time slips by before you know it. I really miss the reunions. They were part of my life as well as my extended family. I'm happy to keep in touch with many of you by email. This means a lot to me. I know the reunions will continue because we are and have been blessed with a great crew that loves a great party and friendship with everyone. Hope I get to see everyone in a future reunion. GOD BLESS. LOVE YOU ALL AND YA'L from SOUTH.
