To whom it may concern:

My name is George Lester Needles III and a couple of years ago when my grandfather passed away I received most of his items from his time in navy. He served on the USS Belle Grove during WWII. I have a lot of pictures from during the war and from the reunions. I would like to share this with others. I will be scanning them over the next few years and emailing them in. I am also looking to find out a little more about my grandfather so if anyone has any stories they could share that would be great.

Thank you

George L. Needles III

Good morning!
Logbook is at the printers, and hopefully if all goes well, should be ready to mail around April 9th. We are good, expecting some rain, hopefully that will settle the dust and wash the leftover winter stuff away. Had some good news yesterday from our good shipmate PJ Trahan, he had just visited with Jake Chakov in MN., and Ms. Becky his lovely bride, had a long bout with kidneys, and was on machines, and was expected to be on them for a long long time. Well, a miracle has happened and she no longer needs the machine, her kidneys have come back on their own and are functioning as normal. This is amazing. They are so happy. And they are thinking very hard about moving to Assisted Living area in their city, which would be a wonderful thing for them, to be taken care if they wish. Jake and Becky have cut their own wood and carried it to the house, and kept the place up with mowing and etc., remeber Jake is a young 90 year old. Bless them both. We are truly happy to hear Becky is on the mend. Hope to see them in New Mexico in July. Have a great week-end and take care.
Love,
Les and Janet

Good afternoon Shipmates and Righthanders,
Just got home from doctor and the stitches are out, and Les is relieved about that, wounds look good, still has some swelling and soreness, but it will take a long time to heal, according to doctor. Also had another cat scan, and they will monitor all of this, in June he will have another for kidney stones and spot on left lung, then August scan of Aorta anersym. If things change then another decision will need to take place. We are looking forward to NM and BG reunion in July. And Erica you did a super job on the Reunion book, great pictures and format. Please continue to cover this project for the BG crew. Thank you folks for the phone calls and messages sent to us on the computer, and really neat cards. We do appreciate your thoughts and prayers, this has been a rough two and half weeks for us, but it is smoothing out and that is a great thing to happen right now. Lots of stress.
Take care.
Janet and Les

Good Day to all, Sorry to hear of the 'Hit and Run' Les, hope the healing is quick and to all BG friends who are ailing, our prayers are with you.
Just a note that Mother 'Ginny' was sweeping snow off her front steps and 'banged up' her right shoulder. We expect she will be released from therapy today. She has bounced back like a good rubber ball. Otherwise we are all well and looking forward to Spring.
