Hi all
I have received information from emails that a couple of our shipmates have passed away in the last few months.

Thomas Davis passed away August 26, 2016. He was on board the USS BG 61-63

David Nicoulin passed away April 13, 2016 from Mesothelioma that he incurred while on ship. His wife Kathy mentioned he was on the BG during nuclear testing. Mr. Nicoulin was on board 56-58.

Received the Newsletter and enjoyed reading it.
Sorry we didn't make it back to Cajun Country but had a conflict with grandkids at the beach for two weeks.

Just a note to congratulate Marilynn on a "Job Well Done" with the newsletter, Very Good!!

Hoping to make Dallas in 2017

Do you remember Paul Forsythe of Tucson, Az. and on board the Belle during WW II? Paul attended many reunions. I just heard he will celebrate his 99th birthday Sept. 24th. With help from USS Belle Grove LSD2 "family" we could see he receives 99 Birthday cards. Address... Paul Forsythe 1928 S. Cleveland St. Boise, Idaho 83705 Let's make it happen. Donna Larson

I have been informed by Julie Marie Romanos of the passing of Jose Romanos EN3 who served on board the BG from 1962-1966. I remember serving with Jose who was a fun guy to talk to and although we were in different departments on the ship we struck up a friendship on board the BG. Rest in Peace Jose.

To those who signed the card from the reunion. A BIG THANKS for remembering us.I apologize for not writing this sooner but things are stressful on a daily basis. Alice is not doing well and as a caregiver I find time slips by before you know it. I really miss the reunions. They were part of my life as well as my extended family. I'm happy to keep in touch with many of you by email. This means a lot to me. I know the reunions will continue because we are and have been blessed with a great crew that loves a great party and friendship with everyone. Hope I get to see everyone in a future reunion. GOD BLESS. LOVE YOU ALL AND YA'L from SOUTH.

Les and Janet said it all, what a great reunion it was. I would like to thank all the attendees and of course Mitzy and the Peltiers. You folks sure know how to hold a reunion.

Next year Marilynn is hosting in Texas and I know it will be a good one. Always wanted to go visit South Fork and it is on one of the tours.

Don't forget to send in your dues so you can keep receiving the newsletter. We hope to be able to send the newsletter out online in the near future. Send your dues to John Vice our Secretary/Treasure. ($10 year-$75 lifetime)
