We read in the Star Herald of the passing of Eileen Pierce. She was the wife of Marvin Pierce.Lowell was aboard ship with Marvin. Many of you will remember Marvin. He passed away several years ago.She passed away on OCT.23,2016 We wanted to go to her funeral but Lowell had a bad knee and had to have an MRI.They thought something was torn in it.Dr.gave him a shot in his knee and let us go home. His knee still hurts ,so we might be at square 1.You can send a card to her son. I received a call from Louise Sawyer's daughter last Friday to let me know that Louise will be celebrating her 80th birthday on October 4. She was surprised with a birthday party this past Saturday. If you would like to send Louise a card or call her, her mailing telephone number is:

12 Hillstead Rd
Claremont, NH 03743
(603) 542 6864

If you remember, Louise was a companion to Wallace Hentschel (Archie) and attended many reunions along with Archie and after his passing.

Hello friends,
Received this message from family of Becky Chakov. A Memorial Celebration will be held October 10, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Neilson Place for Elaine R. "Becky" Chakov. Bemidji, MN. Becky passed away July 26th at Neilson Place, where she had been recovering from a fracture.
We hope you can join us. If you are not able to attend, but perhaps have a story, poem or any sentiment to share, we will be happy to read it for you. You can send to kbedwards@comcast.net before October 10.

Becky and her husband Jake (Little Jake) attended many reunions with all of us, and we looked forward to seeing them at the reunions. They met as the story goes on a ferry, and it was love from there on, and marriage.

All is well in Iowa, we are enjoying the cooler weather and the fall. Not looking forward to all the leaves, but love our trees so something we just have to put up with. Les is doing fair, some days are good others not so good. Humidity is his downfall, takes the zing right out of him.

All take care, and see you in July in Texas.

Les and Janet
